President of Cyprus, European Commission President and Commissioners Arrive at Limassol Port

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, members of the Council of Ministers and European Commissioners arrived at the new port of Limassol to participate in the work of the College of Commissioners. The arrival of the European Commissioners was gradual, with the Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, welcoming them. Ms. von der Leyen was welcomed by President Christodoulides, who introduced the members of the Council of Ministers. They then visited an exhibition on the Amalthia Plan, followed by a bilateral meeting. At the same time, meetings began between Ministers/Deputy Ministers and Commissioners, focusing on issues on the European agenda and the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency. The plenary meeting, with the participation of the entire College of Commissioners and the Council of Ministers, took place at 3:55 pm. This visit is part of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU and aims to consult and cooperate for the next six months. Later, President Christodoulides and Ms. von der Leyen are expected to give a press conference.
