Defendants in Demosthenes Murder Case to Appear in Criminal Court

The six defendants accused of the premeditated murder of 49-year-old businessman Stavros Demosthenes, which took place on October 17, 2025, will appear in Criminal Court today. The defendants had first appeared in court in January 2026, but the case was postponed to file a joint indictment. The defendants face charges of premeditated murder, conspiracy to commit a felony, arson of a vehicle, illegal possession and use of firearms and explosives, as well as vehicle theft. One of the defendants is allegedly linked to the purchase and sale of the motorcycle used during the perpetrators' escape. Another defendant is alleged to have given instructions from prison to purchase the motorcycle, while genetic material from a third defendant was found in a stolen vehicle used to monitor the victim. A fourth defendant is alleged to have been the driver of the van from which the shots were fired. Two defendants are believed to be the perpetrator and accomplice of Demosthenes, respectively. The trial is expected to begin today around 9:00 AM.
