Targeted Police Checks in Cyprus: 11 Arrests and 321 Traffic Violations

The Cyprus Police conducted targeted checks across the island on Thursday evening, resulting in the arrest of eleven individuals for various offenses, including driving under the influence, illegal possession of property, and illegal stay. During the checks, 502 vehicles were stopped and 689 individuals were inspected, while 35 premises were searched, leading to four complaints. Regarding traffic controls, 321 violations were recorded, including three for driving under the influence, and 71 alcohol tests were conducted. Additionally, ten vehicles were impounded. The Police emphasize that crime prevention and suppression operations continue daily with increased police presence and targeted checks. The aim is to ensure public safety and address crime. These checks are part of a broader police strategy to enhance citizen security and prevent criminal activity.
