The owner of the 'Violanta' biscuit factory will appear before the investigator today, as he is being held at the Trikala Police Directorate for the fatal explosion that claimed the lives of five workers. His lawyers are expected to request a 48-hour extension. The indictment has been upgraded to explosion with possible intent and manslaughter, following new evidence from the investigation. The owner had been arrested previously for manslaughter, arson and bodily harm. Simultaneously, his second factory, 'Vitafree', has been temporarily closed for scheduled technical work.
