Kouyoumtzian Finishes 64th in Giant Slalom

Yiannos Kouyoumtzian successfully completed the Giant Slalom at the "Milano-Cortina 26" Winter Olympics, finishing 64th with a total time of 2.52.11. A total of 69 athletes managed to complete both descents, highlighting the difficulty of the course. Kouyoumtzian achieved a time of 1.29.14 in the first descent and maintained a steady performance in the second, despite the more challenging weather conditions. The Cypriot athlete expressed his satisfaction with completing both runs and is looking forward to Monday's Slalom event. His performance is considered significant for Cypriot Alpine Skiing, confirming his continuous development and participation in consecutive Olympic Games (Beijing 2022 and Milano-Cortina 2026). Representatives of the Cyprus Olympic Committee were by Kouyoumtzian's side, providing support throughout the competition. Kouyoumtzian's success enhances the prestige of Cypriot sports on the international stage and serves as an inspiration for younger athletes.
