Guterres to Visit Ankara Focusing on Refugees and Regional Developments

The Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, will visit Turkey during Ramadan as a sign of solidarity and recognition of Turkey's role in managing the refugee crisis. This visit is an annual tradition of the Secretary-General, who has chosen Turkey this year. During his visit, Guterres will meet with President Erdogan and Foreign Minister Fidan, where regional developments, humanitarian aid, and refugee issues will be discussed. He will also meet with representatives of non-governmental organizations working for refugees, given that Turkey hosts approximately 2.5 million refugees, mainly Syrians.
