Body Found in the Bosphorus, Possibly Belonging to Missing Russian Swimmer

A body was found in the Bosphorus in Istanbul this morning, and Turkish authorities are investigating whether it belongs to Russian swimmer Nikolai Svetchnikov, who has been missing since August 24th after participating in the 37th Intercontinental Swimming Race. The body was found in the sea area between Galatasaray and Bebek and was recovered by the Coast Guard. According to authorities, the body's features resemble those of the missing athlete and was wearing swimming trunks. The family has been informed and a DNA sample will be taken for definitive identification. The search continues.
