Significant Rainfall Amounts Recorded in Recent Days

Very good amounts of rain fell mainly in the mountainous areas of Cyprus during the last 24 hours, replenishing the dams. According to meteorologist Tasos Koulenis, these amounts are among the highest recorded in a 24-hour period. As an example, 82 millimeters fell in Platanias, 84 in Kakopetria, 64 in Prodromos, and 65 in Troodos. The low-pressure system that caused the rain is weakening, but there is a possibility of light snowfall in the Troodos mountains in the afternoon. A new disturbance is expected to affect Cyprus in the early hours of Wednesday, but it is not expected to bring as much rain as the last 24 hours.
