Support Staff of Education Ministry to Strike on Thursday

Employees of the Support Programs of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth announced a 24-hour strike for Thursday, March 26th, in protest of the bill submitted to Parliament in December. Employees believe the bill jeopardizes their jobs, ignores trade union positions, disregards court decisions, and contradicts national and European legislation. A protest will be held outside the Presidential Palace during the strike, with a march from PASYDY. The trade union organizations PASY-PEO and OEKDY-SEK call on employees to participate massively in the strike and to ensure the closure of all programs. They emphasize that after years of uncertainty and injustice, they will not accept further delays and demand solutions that respect their labor rights. The Ministry of Education has not yet commented on the strike announcement. The bill concerns the regulation of labor relations of employees in support programs, which provide important services to students and schools. The employees demand the guarantee of their jobs and compliance with court decisions, as well as respect for the work they do to support the educational process.
