Spraying System Fully Operational in Timi to Prevent Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The spraying system in the Timi area has been fully operationalized as part of preventative measures against foot-and-mouth disease in the livestock zone. Deputy Mayor George Polycarpou described the initiative as “substantial and timely,” emphasizing the importance of proactively protecting the area. Mr. Polycarpou highlighted the protection of local production and the support of livestock farmers as a priority and responsibility of the Municipality. Prevention is considered the most effective weapon against foot-and-mouth disease, which can cause serious economic and productive consequences. The spraying system systematically covers the livestock area and operates in conjunction with the already implemented biosecurity measures. The Ierokipia Municipality is in constant communication with the relevant state services for coordination and immediate response in case of need. The Ierokipia Municipality is committed to continuing to invest in prevention and support actions for local livestock farming, with the aim of ensuring public health, protecting livestock capital, and maintaining the sustainability of the region's agricultural economy.
