Sahali Accuses Ustel of Corruption and Bribery

Erkut Sahali, "deputy chairman" of the Republican Turkish Party (RTP) "parliamentary group," accused "Prime Minister" Unal Ustel of corruption and bribery. Mr. Sahali demanded explanations for the removal of four "civil servants" by Mr. Ustel, arguing that the lack of justification also raises suspicions about the "Prime Minister" himself. Furthermore, Mr. Sahali called for early "elections," criticizing the preparations for a "referendum" to revise the "constitution," which he characterized as an attempt to avoid "elections." He also mentioned that a request for lifting Mr. Ustel’s "immunity" had been rejected at his suggestion, while his close associates face charges. Mr. Sahali emphasized that the TRNC is in a period of serious political corruption, with politicians and public figures accused of serious offenses without explanation. This accusation comes at a time of increased tension and questioning of the political situation in the region.
