Government to Announce Targeted Measures to Address Economic Impact

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, announced that he will present targeted measures on Thursday to address the economic impact of the war in the Middle East. The measures will concern various sectors of the economy that have been affected by the crisis. The President stressed that the government's responsible fiscal policy allows for the implementation of new support measures. According to the President, the government already has measures in place worth over €100 million to address the energy crisis and rising prices. He emphasized that responsible economic management is essential to address difficulties and provide assistance to citizens. In addition, the President mentioned that the government has also developed alternative scenarios for measures, which will be implemented depending on the evolution of the situation. He expressed hope that the crisis will end soon, but the government is prepared for any eventuality. President Christodoulides assured that the measures will concern all sectors affected by the crisis and that the government will respond to the reasonable demands of the Cypriot people. When asked about tourism, he stated that announcements will also be made for this sector.
