Snow Moon: When will Jupiter be particularly visible in the night sky?

The February 2026 full moon, also known as the Snow Moon or Hungry Moon, will reach its maximum brightness at 00:09 Cyprus time on February 1st (dawn of February 2nd). Its name comes from the snowfalls that traditionally characterize February in North America, as well as the difficulties in hunting during the same period. Experts recommend observing it immediately after sunset, when the moon will rise near the constellation Cancer. In addition, Jupiter will be particularly visible in the night sky. In areas of North America and Africa, the Moon will occult Regulus, the brightest star in Leo.
