Corruption Allegations Implicate 'Prime Minister' Ustel in Northern Cyprus

Serious allegations of corruption and money laundering have been published by the website "Bugün Kıbrıs," implicating the 'Prime Minister' of the occupied territories, Ünal Üstel, and his son. According to the testimony of a close associate of the murdered Khalil Falyalı, Mr. Üstel is alleged to have maintained ties with organized crime and to have received money at a car wash. Furthermore, his son is accused of tax evasion and money laundering through the trade of luxury vehicles. The President of the Republican Turkish Party (RTP) has called for an immediate investigation, while Mr. Üstel has denied the allegations and the police have avoided commenting due to the confidentiality of the investigations.
