Russia-Ukraine: Two Countries Exchange 500 Prisoners of War in 2 Days

Russia and Ukraine have agreed to exchange 500 prisoners of war, 200 today and 300 tomorrow, Friday, following negotiations in Geneva. The two countries periodically exchange prisoners, despite the lack of progress towards a peace agreement. The exchange was mediated by the United Arab Emirates and the United States. Russia announced that 200 Russian soldiers were exchanged for 200 Ukrainians. The process was “complex,” according to Moscow. This exchange is a rare sign of cooperation between the two countries amid the ongoing war.
