Rosatom to Remain in Iran Despite Conflict

Russia's state nuclear energy company Rosatom has announced that it will remain in Iran despite the conflict in the Middle East and continue the construction of two new units at the Bushehr nuclear power plant. Rosatom had temporarily withdrawn some personnel and suspended construction work after attacks by the US and Israel on Iran. However, approximately 450 workers remain at the facility. The company states that the construction of the new units remains a priority and that the situation in the Middle East is only part of a broader global mosaic. Russia and Iran have an agreement for the construction of up to 8 nuclear units, with 4 at Bushehr. Recently, a $25 billion agreement was signed for the construction of 4 additional units at another location.
