EU Strategic Autonomy is the Next Step in European Integration, Says Cypriot Deputy Minister

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, stated that strategic autonomy is the next necessary step in European integration. Referring to the recent European Council, she emphasized that the EU demonstrated unity and determination in defending international legality. The Cypriot Presidency is committed to achieving concrete results during its term, continuing the work of the Presidency Trio (Cyprus, Poland, Denmark). Raouna highlighted the need for an EU that is both autonomous and open to the world, as well as a reliable partner on the international stage. Strengthening the EU's ability to act independently when necessary and to cooperate with its partners is a central goal of the Cypriot Presidency.
