Raouna: Economic Strength and Social Justice Go Hand in Hand

The Deputy Minister for European Affairs, Marilena Raouna, participated in a discussion at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, where she highlighted the role of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU in promoting European competitiveness. Ms. Raouna emphasized the link between competitiveness and European strategic autonomy, stressing that strengthening competitiveness is crucial for economic growth, social progress, and long-term sustainability. The Cypriot Presidency has placed European strategic autonomy at the center of its actions, recognizing the need to maintain social cohesion alongside economic prosperity. The Deputy Minister pointed out the need to remove barriers to the single market and reduce the cost of living, as well as the implementation of European tools and plans to achieve a resilient and competitive Europe.
