“War” and “Peace”

The article raises questions about the use of the term “war” to describe the conflicts in Gaza and the Middle East. The author questions whether the conflict in Gaza can be characterized as “war” given the vast asymmetry of power between Israel and Hamas, as well as the large number of civilian casualties. The author argues that the use of the term “war” may be misleading and downplay the reality of the situation in Gaza, where an entire population is in desperate need. At the same time, it refers to the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East with the involvement of the United States, Israel, and Iran. The author's personal experience, with a drone falling in Cyprus, makes him realize the threat faced by people in war zones, such as Gaza. He points out the contrast between the security enjoyed in Cyprus and the tragedy experienced by civilians in Gaza. The author concludes with a critical attitude towards the hypocrisy of the international community, which provides aid and promises while simultaneously arming the aggressors. He calls for the sending of aid and the cessation of hostilities, emphasizing the need for peace and security in the region.
