Tree Falls and Flooded Properties Following Rainfall

Due to the heavy rainfall that affected Cyprus in the last 24 hours, the Fire Service responded to ten incidents island-wide. The incidents mainly involved fallen trees and flooded properties. Specifically, in Old Nicosia and Flasou there were calls for tree removal and a flooded basement, while in Limassol for tree removal and flooded properties in the areas of Agia Fyla, Apaisia, Limassol and Neapoli. In Larnaca there was a call for tree removal in Pyla and in Polis Chrysochous and Paphos for pumping water from basements. According to the spokesperson of the Fire Service, Andreas Kettis, the service responded to a total of 25 incidents, including five fires and 19 special services.
