President of Cyprus to Bloomberg: "Everything is on the table for the future of the Bases after the crisis"

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, in an interview with Bloomberg TV, stated that Cyprus is not involved in the war but is in a critical geographical position. He emphasized the stability of Cyprus as a hub for business and tourism and the country's experience in the region, which it conveys to the EU. He expressed his satisfaction with the solidarity of the EU and the activation of Article 42.7. He also called for European initiative in the Middle East and de-escalation, while referring to the prospect of Cyprus joining NATO and strengthening European defense. Finally, he stated that the issue of British bases must be put on the table for discussion and that the crisis will have serious economic consequences.
