The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, assured that Cyprus is not involved in any military operation and that all its actions aim at the security of the country and its citizens, in a period of increased tension in the region. He emphasized Cyprus's role as a 'pillar of security and stability' and referred to exploratory contacts for the use of the island as a transit station for the safe evacuation of foreign nationals. He expressed his gratitude for the support of Greece, which was the first country to offer assistance to Cyprus after his communication with Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis. He also highlighted the consequences of the Turkish invasion and occupation, as well as the importance of Cyprus's accession to the EU.
