MH370 Families Urge Malaysia to Extend Search Efforts

Families of passengers on board Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 are urging the Malaysian government to extend its contract with Ocean Infinity to continue the search for the aircraft, which disappeared 12 years ago. The flight, carrying 239 passengers and crew, deviated from its course and vanished from radar during a flight from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing. Despite numerous search operations in the southern Indian Ocean, no trace of the aircraft has been found. Ocean Infinity had previously conducted searches under a 'no find, no fee' agreement, but the operations yielded no results, despite covering an area of 7,571 square kilometers of seabed. The Malaysian Air Accident Investigation Bureau has announced that the searches have been completed. The Voice370 organization, representing the families, fears that Ocean Infinity will not be able to resume the search before the contract expires in June due to winter conditions in the southern hemisphere and is requesting the government to approve an extension of the agreement, offering the same terms to other interested exploration companies. Malaysian investigators have not reached a definitive conclusion regarding the cause of the disappearance, but have not ruled out the possibility of deliberate deviation from the flight path. The case of flight MH370 remains one of the greatest mysteries in aviation history.
