Cyprus Presidency Secures Deal to Strengthen EU External Action Guarantee

The Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU has reached a provisional political agreement with the European Parliament to strengthen the EU's External Action Guarantee (EAG). The agreement concerns amendments to the NDICI–Global Europe regulation, allowing for more strategic and efficient use of resources, particularly through the European Fund for Sustainable Development+ (EFSD+). The aim is to enable the EU to respond more quickly and cohesively to global challenges, by simplifying procedures and increasing flexibility in the use of guarantees. Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos described the agreement as an important step in enhancing the effectiveness of the EU's external investment tools.
