Cyprus Aims to Sell Natural Gas to Europe by 2027-2028

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, stated that the goal is to begin selling Cypriot natural gas to Europe through Egypt around 2027-2028. The statement was made after his participation in a charity run. The President anticipates developments regarding the 'Cronus' deposit during his visit to Egypt, which focuses exclusively on energy issues. The first discovery of natural gas in the Cypriot EEZ was made in 2011, but its exploitation was delayed for over a decade.
