President Christodoulides Announces Comprehensive Plan for Livestock Restoration

President Christodoulides announced a comprehensive plan for the restoration of livestock farming in Cyprus, which has been affected by recent fires and other challenges. During a visit to Pakhna, he met with community leaders to assess the progress of relief measures announced for those affected by the 2025 fire. The government has allocated a total of 60 million euros to address the challenges, including covering the financial losses of livestock farmers and finding ways to replenish lost animals, even from abroad. The President acknowledged the reactions of livestock farmers and assured them that the government has a clear action plan. The plan includes covering the loss of profits and finding solutions to the problems faced by livestock farms located near the ceasefire line or within the British Bases. Furthermore, President Christodoulides emphasized that the current situation is an opportunity to upgrade and strengthen livestock farming in Cyprus, with an emphasis on better planning of livestock farms and addressing existing problems. The government is committed to working with all stakeholders to achieve this goal. Finally, the President assured that the government's responsible economic policy allows it to address such challenges and provide support to those affected.
