President Christodoulides: Cyprus a Pillar of Security and Stability in the Region – “Not Involved in Any Military Operation”

The President of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, reaffirmed that the Republic of Cyprus is not involved in any military operation, emphasizing that the country serves as a pillar of security and stability in the region. Cyprus is considering requests to use the island as a transit hub for the safe evacuation of foreign nationals from the area, during a period of heightened tension. President Christodoulides expressed gratitude for Greece's support, particularly the dispatch of fighter jets and frigates, which encouraged other European countries to offer assistance. He also stressed the importance of continuing the approach of “assertive realism” to resolve the Cyprus issue and reunite the country. Cyprus and Greece are working closely together to maintain stability in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
