Greenland's Prime Minister: Invasion Unlikely but Citizens Should Prepare

The Prime Minister of Greenland, Jens-Frederik Nielsen, has called on citizens and authorities of the island to prepare for the possibility of a military invasion, despite the fact that such a scenario is considered unlikely. This move comes in response to repeated statements by Donald Trump about taking control of Greenland. Nielsen announced the formation of a special working group to prepare citizens and examine the distribution of instructions for storing food for at least five days. At the same time, Denmark has strengthened its military presence in Greenland, while other NATO countries have also deployed officers to the island. The Prime Minister of Denmark, Mette Frederiksen, warned that Europe will be forced to respond if the US imposes tariffs, emphasizing the serious consequences that could arise for relations between the two sides of the Atlantic. Trump has threatened new tariffs on NATO allies from February 1st.
