Public Notice: Fire Trucks in Kofinou, Skarinou & Zygi - Exercise in Progress

The Cyprus Fire Service informs the public that a certification exercise for members of the EMAC (Emergency Medical Assistance Corps) will be held in the areas of Kofinou, Skarinou and Zygi, as part of the INSARAG (International Search and Rescue Advisory Group) program. The exercise will take place from 6:00 PM on January 28th to 8:00 AM on January 29th, 2026. During the exercise, fire trucks will be mobilized in these areas. The Fire Service assures the public that there is no cause for concern, as this is a scheduled exercise and not a real fire or other emergency situation. This exercise is important for maintaining the readiness and effectiveness of the EMAC in responding to emergency situations. Participation in the INSARAG program allows Cyprus to respond to international calls for assistance in the event of natural disasters.
