Environmental Education Center Temporarily Closed Due to Foot-and-Mouth Disease

The Athlassa Environmental Education and Information Center will remain temporarily closed as a precautionary measure to protect animal health and limit the spread of foot-and-mouth disease. The decision was made by the Forestry Department. According to an announcement from the Forestry Department, the environmental education programs implemented in this area by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth will continue to be carried out normally in alternative study areas. The center's teaching staff will contact schools before the programs are held to coordinate regarding the alternative locations. The precautionary closure of the center aims to prevent the spread of foot-and-mouth disease, which poses a serious threat to livestock.
