Medochemie Wins Gold Environmental Medal for 7th Consecutive Year

The pharmaceutical company Medochemie has won the Gold Environmental Medal for 2025 at the Pan-Cypriot Environmental Awards, for its environmental policies and actions. This distinction is the seventh consecutive one for the company, confirming its commitment to sustainable development. Medochemie was awarded for initiatives such as the development of an innovative system for the treatment of pharmaceutical waste as part of the European LIFE Pharma Detox project, as well as for comprehensive waste management practices, tree planting, and the promotion of recycling. Since October 1, 2025, the electricity used in all Medochemie factories in Cyprus has come from renewable sources, reducing its carbon footprint. The company emphasizes that environmental protection is inextricably linked to its sustainability strategy and is part of the ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) framework. The President of the Medochemie Environmental Protection Committee, Dr. Christakis Sergidis, stated that the distinction is both an honor and a responsibility, emphasizing the importance of environmental responsibility, social contribution, and good corporate governance for the company's development.
