Το Κακουργιοδικείο Αμμοχώστου καταδίκασε σήμερα σε ποινή φυλάκισης επτά ετών 49χρονο από την επαρχία Αμμοχώστου, αφού τον βρήκε ένοχο στις κατηγορίες της παράνομης κατοχής ναρκωτικών με σκοπό την προμήθεια σε άλλα πρόσωπα, σύμφωνα με αστυνομική ανακοίνωση.
Όπως αναφέρεται στην ανακοίνωση στην οικία του 49χρονου είχαν εντοπιστεί, στο πλαίσιο συντονισμένης επιχείρησης που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 19/10/2025 από την Υπηρεσία Καταπολέμησης Ναρκωτικών (ΥΚΑΝ) στην επαρχία Αμμοχώστου, ποσότητα κάνναβης μικτού βάρους 860 γραμμαρίων, καθώς και ποσότητα κοκαΐνης μικτού βάρους 270 γραμμαρίων.

Seven-Year Prison Sentence for 49-Year-Old for Illegal Drug Possession
A 49-year-old man has been sentenced to seven years in prison by the Famagusta Criminal Court for illegal possession of drugs with intent to supply to others. The conviction follows an investigation by the Drug Enforcement Unit (YKAN). During a coordinated operation by YKAN in October 2025, 860 grams of cannabis and 270 grams of cocaine were found at the 49-year-old's residence. The amount of drugs and the intention to distribute them led to the man's conviction. The case was investigated by YKAN Famagusta, which collected sufficient evidence to prove the defendant's guilt. This conviction sends a deterrent message against the illegal drug trade in Cyprus. YKAN continues its efforts to combat drugs and protect society from their effects.
