POED Demands Immediate Relocation of French Cypriot School of Limassol

POED expressed strong dissatisfaction with the co-location of the French Cypriot School of Limassol with the A' Primary School and A' Kindergarten of Limassol, arguing that such decisions hinder the operation of public schools and may aim to alter the philosophy of public education. According to POED, the 145 children of the A' Primary School and A' Kindergarten were forced to move to the second floor of the building to accommodate the French Cypriot School, while workshops and special education rooms were cancelled. POED accuses the government of unfair treatment of the public school and calls for the immediate finding of an alternative space for the relocation of the French Cypriot School. It emphasizes that children have the right to quality education and the identity of the public school should not be jeopardized. The issue has already been discussed with the Ministry of Education, which has committed to investigate and organize a meeting as soon as possible to resolve the problem. POED remains firm in its position to protect the rights of public school students and ensure their smooth operation. The POED announcement highlights the need to respect the educational process and avoid decisions that could negatively affect the quality of education provided.
