Amazon Facilities in UAE and Bahrain Hit by Drones

Amazon facilities in the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain have been hit by drone attacks, causing damage and disruptions to service delivery. Amazon Web Services announced that two of its data centers in the UAE were “directly hit” by drones, while a facility in Bahrain was taken offline due to damage. The company warns of potential continued instability in the Middle East, making operations “unpredictable”. The attacks caused structural damage, power outages and fires, affecting services such as EC2, S3 and DynamoDB. Amazon is working to restore services, but expects it will take time due to the extent of the damage.
