Cyprus Presents Economic Program for EU Presidency

The Cypriot Minister of Finance, Makis Keravnos, presented the economic program of the Cypriot Presidency at the first meeting of the Economic and Financial Affairs Council in Brussels. The program focuses on strengthening the economic autonomy and competitiveness of the EU, as well as supporting Ukraine. Specifically, the Presidency will promote legislative work on the Banking Union, the Capital Markets Union, and the simplification of tax legislation. In addition, it will work to promote a modernized Customs Union and ensure financial support for Ukraine. The meeting also approved technical amendments to the recovery and resilience plans of several countries.
