Traditional Cypriot Baking Workshop at Agios Antonios Lyceum

A hands-on workshop at Agios Antonios Lyceum in Limassol brought Cypriot tradition closer to students. As part of the DRASE+ program, Hara Koutalianou from Koilani presented the method of making traditional Koilani glytzista (sweet pastries) and pourekia anari (cheese pastries). The workshop aimed to introduce students to the secrets of local confectionery and give them the opportunity to actively participate in the preparation process. Students and teachers had the opportunity to roll out dough, fill the pastries, and test their skills. The delicacies prepared were offered free of charge to the entire school community, allowing everyone to enjoy the authentic flavors of our land. This action is part of the school's effort to strengthen the connection with local tradition and cultivate life skills in students. The DRASE+ program aims to provide experiential experiences that bring knowledge closer to the daily lives of children and promote appreciation for Cyprus's cultural heritage.
