Papacharalambous Alleges Orchestrated Leaks in Strovolos Municipality Case

Former Strovolos Mayor Andreas Papacharalambous accused recent leaks of documents from the Strovolos Municipality of being orchestrated and politically motivated, as they were leaked to the 'Alithia' newspaper instead of being submitted to the competent authorities. He categorically rejected allegations of a “hole” in the municipal budget, explaining that the debt of €2 million relates to a balance accumulated since 2002 and concerns a specific company. He argued that a successful settlement of €200,000 was reached during his tenure, which was credited to the Municipality's account. Mr. Papacharalambous announced that he will take legal action to protect his reputation, considering the case a libel and linking the attacks to his political career and candidacy for ELAM.
