Paphos: Driver Found with Five Times the Legal Alcohol Limit

A 56-year-old driver was arrested in Paphos for driving under the influence of alcohol, with a reading of 107mg/ml in his system, far exceeding the legal limit of 22mg/ml. The arrest was made following complaints from citizens about dangerous driving. The driver was spotted by Traffic Police moving on Ellados Avenue and was stopped. Residents of the areas of Tala and Emba had alerted the Police about the dangerous driving of the vehicle. The 56-year-old refused to submit to a final alcohol test, which led to his arrest. The case has been registered at the Paphos District Court and a hearing date has been set for April 6th. The Police continue to remind of the dangers of driving under the influence of alcohol and the serious consequences it can have for the safety of drivers and pedestrians. This incident highlights the need for increased vigilance and responsibility from drivers, as well as the effective enforcement of road safety laws.
