President Christodoulides to Visit Italy for Talks with Mattarella and Meloni

The President of the Republic, Nikos Christodoulides, will pay an official visit to Italy on February 26 and 27, 2026, at the invitation of Italian President Sergio Mattarella. The visit is a return visit following Mattarella's visit to Cyprus in February 2024. During the visit, President Christodoulides will meet with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni and President Mattarella to discuss bilateral relations, regional developments, the Cyprus issue, and the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the Council of the EU. The visit program also includes an official welcome by President Mattarella, a working lunch with the participation of Foreign Minister Constantinos Kombos, and the inauguration of the archaeological exhibition “Cyprus and Italy, Common Cultural Identity from the Beginning of History” at the Museum of Castel Sant'Angelo. In addition, President Christodoulides will have a working meeting with Claudio Descalzi, CEO of ENI, which operates in the Cypriot Exclusive Economic Zone.
