President Inaugurates Exhibition of Cypriot Myths at the European Parliament

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, inaugurated an exhibition entitled “The Myths of Cyprus” at the European Parliament in Strasbourg, as part of Cyprus’s assumption of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union. The exhibition presents eight Cypriot myths: the Dragons, the Wine of the Knights, the Stones of Digenis, Saint Helen and the True Cross, Sieroletta, the Deluge, Adonis, and the Castles of Rigaina. President Christodoulides stressed the importance of preserving and promoting cultural heritage, emphasizing that myths and traditions are an integral part of cultural identity. He also pointed out that culture is the common language that unites Europeans and that Cyprus, as a bridge between Europe and the Middle East, seeks to act as a connecting link and promote dialogue and cooperation.
