Iran Assures Turkey Rockets Did Not Originate From Its Territory

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian assured Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan that the rockets shot down in Turkish airspace did not originate from Iran. During a phone call, he proposed the formation of a joint investigation team to determine the origin of the rockets. Mr. Pezeshkian argued that Israel and the United States are trying to create tension between Iran and its neighboring countries by spreading false claims of an Iranian attack on Turkey. He reiterated that Tehran did not carry out any attack and proposed the creation of a joint investigative team. The phone call took place after Erdoğan's statements regarding the rockets shot down over Turkey. The Turkish President warned that the continuation of such actions would endanger relations between the two countries. Turkey and Iran have long-standing relations of neighborhood and cooperation, and Tehran seeks to clarify the situation and prevent any further escalation of tension.
