Stories of the Five Deceased Workers at Violanta: They Worked Nights to Care for Children and Grandchildren

A deep mourning has gripped the city of Trikala following the fatal explosion at the "Violanta" biscuit factory, which claimed the lives of five female workers: Agapi, Elena, Vaso, Voula, and Anastasia. The women worked the night shift, which they had chosen to be able to care for their families or complete their insurance contributions for retirement. Their bodies were found in the basement of the factory and have been transferred to the Larissa morgue for DNA identification. The tragedy could have been even greater, as the shift was reduced due to the previous celebration for the New Year's cake cutting. Each victim had her own personal stories and needs, which led her to work the night shift, while the local community expresses its grief over the loss of these women fighters of life.
