Rainfall Increases Water Inflow to Dams – Current Capacity (Table)

Recent rainfall has led to an increase in water inflow to Cyprus' dams. The overall dam capacity reached 11.8% on January 26th, 2026, up from 11.0% on January 23rd, 2026. However, the capacity remains significantly lower compared to the same day last year, which was at 26.1%. Total water inflow from October 1st to date has reached 11,268 TKMs of water, with 2,546 TKMs recorded in the last three days. Despite the improvement, the situation remains critical, as significantly larger amounts of water are needed to overcome the drought and avoid the impact on farmers, as happened in 2025. To bring the dams to satisfactory levels, a strong barometric low is needed to bring substantial rainfall.
