Detailed Government Spending on Support for Fire Victims in Mountainous Limassol

The General Accounting Office of Cyprus has published detailed information on government spending to support those affected by the fire in the mountainous region of Limassol in July 2025. A total of €17.4 million was spent on support measures, as part of a comprehensive plan with a budget of €89.6 million approved by the Council of Ministers. These expenses were covered entirely by the state budget, without the use of funds collected from citizens and organizations. These contributions remain in a separate bank account and will be allocated after relevant government decisions, which will be followed by an update. The General Accounting Office systematically monitors the progress of the implementation of the support measures and will provide detailed information at regular intervals. The aim is to ensure the reliable recording of implementation, accountability, timely information to citizens, and transparency in the management of funds. The publication of this information is an indication of the government's commitment to support the fire victims and manage resources responsibly and transparently.
