Restoration Works Begin on Windmill in Occupied Limnia

Restoration work has begun on a windmill in the occupied Limnia area of Famagusta, as announced by the co-chair of the Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage, Ali Tunçai. The committee emphasizes the importance of preserving such structures for the economic and cultural history of Cyprus, as well as for maintaining the common heritage of the island's inhabitants. Due to the lack of water resources for watermills, the use of windmills developed in the area of Famagusta and Karpasia. The project is funded by the European Union and technically supported by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The restoration of the windmill is part of a broader effort to safeguard the cultural heritage of Cyprus.
