Papadospouls: Foot-and-Mouth Disease Situation Manageable with EU Protocols

Nikos Papadopoulos, president of DIKO, emphasized the need for cooperation and moderation in addressing the crisis caused by foot-and-mouth disease in livestock farming. He stressed that the situation is manageable if European protocols are fully implemented and farmers are supported. He stated that compensation to farmers will cover both the cost of restoring animals and lost profits. He warned of the devastating consequences if necessary measures are not implemented, which will affect livestock farming for years.
