4-Year-Old Girl Dies from Flu A Complications

A four-year-old girl passed away today at the Makarios Hospital due to complications from the Flu A virus. The child had been transferred from Limassol General Hospital on Saturday, intubated and in critical condition, to the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit. Despite the efforts of doctors, the girl's health did not improve, and she eventually succumbed to multi-organ failure caused by the Flu A infection. This marks the 13th flu-related death recorded in Cyprus, with one of the victims being a 54-year-old. The Spokesperson of the Cyprus Public Health Service (OKYPY), Charalambos Charilaou, confirmed the tragic event. The child's health condition was particularly critical from the beginning of her hospitalization.
