New Turkish Challenges in Avlona: Village Leader's Complaint

Turkish farmers have entered the Dead Zone in the Avlona area and begun planting permanent crops, expanding their occupation. The village leader of Avlona, Menelaos Savva, reported the incident to Cyprus Times, stating that individuals in military attire, possibly Turkish soldiers, were also observed. UNFICYP was informed and went to the scene, but the Turkish farmers remained and continued their work. The village leader expressed concern about the lack of checks in the Dead Zone, as checks by the United Nations were previously carried out.
