Raids Result in 30 Irregular Migrant Arrests - Deportation Procedures Underway

Coordinated operations by the Alien and Immigration Service, in collaboration with the Green Line and Migration Monitoring Sub-Directorate, were carried out in the provinces of Nicosia and Famagusta. During the operations, a total of 30 irregular migrants were identified and arrested, 17 in Nicosia and 13 in Famagusta. The detainees, nationals of third countries, were residing illegally in the Republic of Cyprus. All were transferred to the Menogia Detention Center (CHOKAM) to begin procedures for repatriation to their countries of origin. Authorities continue to carry out checks to address illegal immigration.
