‘Career 2026’ Event Held with Participation of 50 Professional Bodies

The ‘Career 2026’ event took place on Saturday, January 24th, with the participation of 50 professional bodies, aiming to bridge the gap between school and the labor market. The event was organized by the Counseling and Career Guidance Service (UCGA) of the Ministry of Education, in collaboration with the Pan-Cypriot Confederation of Federations of Parent Associations of Public Secondary Schools and with the support of the Bank of Cyprus. As part of the event, the bodies provided information and educational material about their professions, while 13 presentations were given by established professionals in modern fields, mainly STEAM. The Career Professions Exhibition was organized for the fourth consecutive year, offering information on professions, professional rights, and employment prospects. The opening of the event was declared by the Director-General of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, Marios Panagidis, who emphasized the importance of the event for informing students, parents, and the wider public. The Minister of Labor and Social Insurance, through the Limassol Provincial Labor Office Coordinator Maria Pitsillidou, referred to the need to bridge the gap between school and the labor market and to provide accurate information to young people. Greetings were also addressed by the Mayor of Limassol, Yiannis Armeftis, and the President of the Pan-Cypriot Confederation of Federations of Parent Associations of Public Secondary Schools, Loizos Konstantinou, emphasizing the need for continuous and accurate information regarding career choices.
